The Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home was originally founded as the Minshall Funeral Home in 1837, in the area of Boothwyn, PA. The funeral home was later moved to Chester, PA and finally to its present location at Middletown (Route 352) and Knowlton Roads in Middletown Twp., Media, PA.

Upon Melvin I. Minshall's retirement in 1982, Norman and Gerry Shropshire purchased the funeral home. Both Norman and Gerry are lifetime residents of Delaware County.

The funeral home is staffed by trained professionals who will guide and carry out each family’s wishes in planning a meaningful service.

Traditional, as well as cremation funeral services, along with pre-arrangements are available. The Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home continues to be privately owned and is the oldest established funeral home in Delaware County.

Directions from South Blue Route
South on Blue Route - Take Lima exit #5 (exits onto Route #1 South Baltimore Pike) Keep on this road and follow to you see signs 352 North & South Stay in right hand lane Will exit off at RT# 352 South - Will go under over pass (ahead is Granite Run Mall and Motorcycle shop will be at exit) and immediately exit off to Right - will do jug handle turn and go over RT# 1 - Follow RT# 352 South To the third traffic light - Funeral Home is on far right corner. - Make a left Onto Knowlton Road and a left into Funeral Home parking lot.

Directions from Wilmington
95 North to RT3 452 - Left onto 452 (Exit 2 after crossing state line) Take RT# 452 to Dutton Mill Road (Shopping Center with Blockbuster Video & Shop N Bag on left - Sun East Credit Union on far right) Right onto Dutton Mill Road - Follow to End - Will be a traffic light - Ahead is a Pathmark and Shopping Center - Make a left onto RT# 352 - follow to next traffic light Will see Funeral Home sign on left at traffic light Make a left onto Knowlton Road - left into Funeral Home parking lot

Directions from Philadelphia
95 South to RT# 476 Blue Route - Plymouth 1" exit MacDade Blvd. West - Follow Mac Dade Blvd. - will turn into 22"d Street. Follow to Route 352 - Edgmont Ave. will see Lutheran Church on far left corner and Sunoco Gas & Mini Mart on far right corner - turn right on 352 North continue through Parkside and Brookhaven.

When you get to Brookhaven will see a lot of mini malls and traffic lights. Will come to a mall where there will be a K-Mart and a Pathmark at the far end. When you get to the traffic light and the Pathmark is at you right - go through traffic light to the next traffic light. The Funeral Home is on your left.

Directions from Commodore Barry Bridge
Exiting off Commodore Barry Bridge stay in the left lane and follow the sign to Wilmington, Delaware (will be the first exit). This will bring you to Concord Road, Follow Concord Road - will pass Sun Center on the Left and will see Rick's Sheds a little further on the right. Follow through a traffic light Take to the next traffic light (7-11 on the far right hand corner) this will be Dutton Mill Road. Follow Dutton Mill Road until you can go no further. You will come to a traffic light and ahead of you will be the Pathmark. This will be route 352 and you will make a left turn at the traffic light_ Take to next traffic light. The Funeral Home will be on your left.

Directions from Route 202
From 202 follow to Route #1 Baltimore Pike.. Make a left onto Route 1 Follow through Concordville, Pass Granite Run Mall on the left Pass Riddle Memorial Hospital on the right Exit onto ltte#352 South - follow to 3rd traffic light. Funeral Home will be on far right corner. Make a right hand turn at light than a left into parking lot.

Directions Pennsylvania Turnpike
Exit 23 Downingtown. After paying toll stay left and go under Route #100. Continue straight on Rt#100 for a number of miles. Cross over RT# 30 continue straight and go under the new RT# 30 underpass After going under Rt# 30 get in left lane - this is RT# 100 by-pass This road will turn into one lane and dump you onto RT# 202 Road will end - you will stay on RT# 202 - continue straight on RT# 202 Until you see signs for RT# 1 (Baltimore Pike) - at this point you will need To get into one of the two lanes turning left Continue straight on RT# I - will go through Concordville and pass Granite Run Mall on left - Riddle Memorial Hospital on right - will see sign on right For RT# 352 South - exit off onto 352 South - follow to third traffic light Funeral Home is on far right corner - Make a right turn at traffic light. Make a left into parking lot.

Commodore Barry Bridge - New Jersey Turnpike
Take New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 2 which is Rt.322/Bridgeport. After you pay toll make first left and cross Commodore Barry Bridge. Exiting off of Commodore Barry Bridge stay in the left lane and follow the sign to Wilmington, Delaware (will be the first exit). This will bring you to Concord Rod. Follow Concord Road - will pass Sun Center on the left and will see Rick's Sheds a little further on the right. Follow through a traffic light - when you come to the next traffic light (Dutton Mill Road) there will be a 7-11 Store on the far right corner. Make a right onto Dutton Mill Road and follow until you can go no further. You will come to a traffic light and ahead of you will be the Pathmark. This will be Route 352 and you will make a left turn at the traffic light. Take to the next traffic light. The Funeral Home will be on your left.
